Possum follows Philip, a puppeteer in crisis who returns to his childhood home in a remote area of eastern England. He carries with him a strange puppet that seems to follow him everywhere. As Philip tries to get rid of it, he is forced to confront memories, silences, and long-buried tensions inside the house where he grew up.
The combination of natural light, real textures, and on-location settings, together with the unsettling analogue soundtrack by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, shapes the film’s oppressive atmosphere.
Built on suggestion, disturbing imagery, and strong psychological tension, Possum leads the viewer toward uncovering the dark secret that only Philip knows.
